About the project
About ASL Games
ASL Games is an educational website created by Thomas Boyce Clark / ART EKA to help people return to American Sign Language practice through short videos, visual games, alphabet practice, printable resources, and accessible learning pages.
Why ASL Games Exists
Many learners need repetition that feels approachable. ASL Games is built around the idea that a few minutes of visual practice can help someone stay connected to learning, review what they already studied, and build confidence before continuing with classes, tutors, Deaf teachers, or community practice.
The site is designed for beginners, families, classrooms, independent learners, and people who benefit from visual, sensory-aware, repeatable practice.
Current Practice Videos
The first practice videos currently feature Thomas Boyce Clark. ASL Games is actively working toward collaboration with Deaf teachers, Deaf tutors, and community educators so future videos can include a wider range of teaching voices, signing styles, and lived experience.
Respect for ASL and Deaf Culture
ASL is a real language with its own grammar, history, expressive power, and community. ASL Games is not trying to replace Deaf-led education. It is a practice tool that should encourage learners to respect Deaf culture, seek qualified instruction, and understand that signs can vary by region, context, and signer.
Accessibility and Sensory-Aware Design
The site includes larger text, high contrast, reduced motion, text description support, keyboard-friendly navigation goals, and calmer feedback. ASL Games will keep improving so more people can practice comfortably on phones, tablets, desktops, and assistive technology.
How Support Helps
Subscriptions, ads, sponsors, schools, printable purchases, and font licenses help keep ASLgames.ca free and growing. Support helps cover hosting, video delivery, software work, accessibility improvements, printable resources, and future collaborations.
