Generic directions miss barriers
A short route can still include steep slopes, rough surfaces, missing curb cuts, inaccessible crossings, unclear landmarks, or overwhelming sensory conditions.
ART EKA Accessible Routes Project
Community-verified, disability-specific navigation for mobility, blind and low-vision, Deaf and hard-of-hearing, and DeafBlind travellers.
Important: Routes are accessibility-informed using currently verified information. Conditions can change. Every observation shows its source, confidence, and verification status.
A short route can still include steep slopes, rough surfaces, missing curb cuts, inaccessible crossings, unclear landmarks, or overwhelming sensory conditions.
The same decision point can require surface and slope notes, tactile and audio cues, strong visual landmarks, vibration-friendly instructions, or rest and shelter information.
We distinguish official documentation, ART EKA physical audits, unverified community reports, and information that may have changed.
Start and destination facts come from official sources where possible.
Trained reviewers record decision points, surfaces, slopes, curb cuts, crossings, tactile cues, lighting, noise, landmarks, rest points, and shelter.
Community reports enter a moderation queue. Reports never become verified automatically.
Each fact keeps its status, confidence, source, and last-verified date so changes are visible.
Surfaces, widths, slopes, curb cuts, crossings, barriers, rest points, shelter, and elevator/service checks.
Tactile warnings, cane-detectable cues, audio landmarks, crossing signals, obstacle notes, and one instruction at a time.
Strong visual directions, text-first alerts, landmarks, sightlines, and alternatives to audio-only information.
Short structured steps, high-contrast text, screen-reader output, optional vibration cues, and explicit decision points.
Pilot route #001
The station and park are officially documented. The outdoor path and exact covered picnic shelter meeting point are intentionally marked Needs physical verification until ART EKA completes an on-site audit.
